The Wine country enjoys ideal Mediterranean weather for growing grapes. There are few microclimates in Mexico that combine those unique characteristics of elevation, land, seasons, time and temperature. 

There are more than 65 wineries, some of which are noted for producing some of the most awarded wines in international competitions, the main Valleys are Guadalupe, Calafia, San Antonio de las Minas, Palmas, St. Thomas, St. Vincent and Ojos Negros.

The Wine Route offers to visitors a wide range of attractions and services ranging from small family owned wineries to large-scale producers, small country restaurants to the finest, craft centers, community museums, a mission site, wine boutiques, art galleries, indigenous culture and natural sites.

Currently Baja California wines have won more than 400 international awards since 1986 and in 2011 was awarded as the best tourist route of Mexico.

Some of the tours offered include: transportation, visits to the Museum of Vine and Wine and the Russian Community Museum, guided tour to the vineyards and wine-cellars with the option to participate in workshops like "Make your own wine" and food.
